Engineered for God’s Purposes

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10 ESV).

Every component inside a cell phone has a purpose, and every part must accomplish a specific function and fit inside the dimensions of the phone.  The phone is carefully designed and constructed so that everything fits perfectly.  God has a design for your life.  You are “his workmanship … which God prepared beforehand” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV).  You have been carefully engineered for God’s purposes, just as a cell phone is purposefully engineered.

There is something useful or helpful which you can do or contribute to the body of Christ, the church, and to the world at large.  You are unique.  God has given every person unique talents, gifts, or skills.  Your gifts were given for specific purposes.  You will find great contentment in using those gifts to help others.  In fact, God designed you so that you will get the most joy out of using those gifts for His plan and so that something will be missing in your life when you do not use those gifts.

Today, find some way to use your gifts for God’s glory.  You were created in God’s image and called to build his kingdom.  Figure out the purpose of your design; you were engineered for something specific.  Build the kingdom of God by contributing your gift or your talent.  Remember to read the Bible and to pray for your family, your school, for the lost.  You were created for good works.  You were engineered for God’s purposes.
