God Has No Limits

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20 EV).

God has no limits.  To imagine some scenario in which God is limited is to misunderstand the nature of deity.  God is not bound by time or distance or energy.  His love “surpasses knowledge” (Eph. 3:19 ESV).  In contrast to the boundaries of human knowledge and human strength, God has no limits.

The only thing God cannot do is contradict his nature.  That is, it is God’s nature to be righteous and holy; he cannot be unholy or unrighteous.  God is truthful and it is against his nature for him to lie.  God is purposeful and it is against his nature for him to be whimsical or capricious.  God is eternal and it is against his nature to be bound by time or to cease to exist.  If God were to lie or to act without purpose, he would cease to be God.  (We would not call him God if he ever did those things!)  God cannot stop being God.

Today, stop and consider God’s wonderful power at work in you.  There is nothing inside of you which can stop God from being God and from transforming your life from the inside out.  Nothing which you have thought, said, or done can stop God’s power.  There is no problem God cannot handle.  Let go and let God.  It is in his nature to be truthful and purposeful; so trust “the power at work within is.”  God has no limits.
