For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love (Galatians 5:6 ESV).
Time, distance, and temperature can be measured and quantified. Spirituality cannot be measured. It is not determined by rules, rituals or external religious acts. It is a reflection of the heart and can only be judged by God.
The most important thing is your faith in Christ Jesus, and if your faith in Jesus is genuine then it will be manifested in the love you have others. Outward signs of religion and rite do not impress God or bring us any reward. Genuine faith produces genuine acts of love toward others. God measures is the heart; we cannot do that. We are reminded that “’Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness’” (Romans 4:3 ESV).
Externals like clothing and church membership do not determine a person’s relationship with Christ. A person is not saved by these things and these things do not measure a person’s spirituality, wisdom, gifts, or calling. Beware the trap of judging by these things.
Do not measure the spirituality of others or yourself by what you can see or by outward appearances. Do not judge what cannot be measured. Motives are the measure which only God can see. Check your own heart and make certain your trust in Christ is genuine and that it produces genuine love for God and others in you.
